Hi! We are Tamara (40), Nienke (34) and our daughter Lune (1).

In 2018, we chose to change our way of living and moved out of our house. In 2019, we left The Netherlands to explore new countries and to find a place where we felt at home. The plan was to drive all the way to South Asia and sleep in our van or with families we meet along the way.

From July 2019 until August 2020, we travelled to Georgia and eventually drove back to The Netherlands when the world recovered from COVID-19. Because our dream had’t been fulfilled, we searched for a temporary job and started planning again. In spring 2021, we left The Netherlands for the second time and spent time in Spain and Portugal, visited more countries in South-East Europe and worked as teachers in a mountain village in Bulgaria.

In the Bulgarian snow, we discovered that our lifestyle wouldn’t necessarily exclude expanding our family. While we had already adopted a dog in Turkey in 2019*, we felt we could try having a baby as well. To do that, we needed to go back to The Netherlands, find a job and a house and stay there for a while.

From summer 2022 we have been living in our home country and teaching in schools again. In the beginning of 2024, our daughter Lune joined us in our journey. As you might expect, we really miss our adventurous lifestyle and we can’t wait to take our little girl on our next big trip.

*Sadly, we had to say goodbye to our dog Sparta in December 2024. He had joined us for five years and we dearly miss him.
